This is a hands-on, field-based leadership role supporting the Anti-Poaching Manager in planning, coordinating and executing anti-poaching operations across the reserve. The successful candidate will lead ranger teams on the ground, uphold high standards of discipline, safety and conservation impact, and step in as Acting Manager when required. • Support the planning and execution of patrols, surveillance, rapid response operations and anti-illegal grazing activities.

• Coordinate with TAWA, law enforcement agencies and local communities, supporting joint operations and intelligence-sharing.
• Manage informant networks and oversee deployment of surveillance tools including camera traps, drones and night vision equipment.
• Capture and maintain field data using systems such as EarthRanger, SMART Patrol and CyberTracker, and prepare accurate operational reports.
• Act as Anti-Poaching Manager in their absence and support ranger welfare, equipment maintenance and operational readiness.

• Minimum 7–10 years’ experience within the luxury safari, destination management or high-end inbound tourism sector

• Well-established network of industry contacts, including lodges, camps, DMCs, tour operators and international travel agents
• Solid track record managing reservations and booking operations for a luxury operator or DMC, including complex, high-value, multi-destination enquiries
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including pricing strategy, gross margin management and revenue forecasting
• Experience negotiating supplier contracts and commercial rate agreements
• Familiarity with reservations management systems and CRM platforms

  𝗝𝗗 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 is partnering with an established luxury lodge and safari operation in Malawi, to appoint a guest centric and experienced 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗥.   This position calls for a seasoned hospitality leader who can take full ownership of a multi-faceted lodge and safari business, guiding its people, its performance and its long-term direction while protecting an exceptional experience for every guest who visits. Reporting to the Directors, the successful candidate will run daily operations, build and mentor a capable management team, and take charge of the commercial side of the business, from budgeting and cost control through to revenue growth and financial reporting. Beyond the daily running of the property, this individual will play a hands-on role in shaping future growth, spotting new commercial opportunities and helping guide the wider expansion of the business. The role also carries responsibility for keeping the lodge, vessels and equipment maintained to a high standard, upholding safety and compliance obligations, and working closely with the sales and marketing teams to lift occupancy and strengthen the brand across the region. A genuine passion for responsible tourism is important, along with a willingness to build strong relationships with conservation partners, local authorities and neighbouring communities, and to embrace a remote, hands-on lifestyle away from city comforts.   Requirements

• Degree or diploma in hospitality management, tourism management, business management or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of six years’ experience within luxury safari lodges or the broader tourism industry, including at least five years in a General Manager or senior leadership role
• Demonstrated success managing multi department hospitality operations, including accommodation, food and beverage, guest services, maintenance and administration
• Strong financial management skills covering budgeting, forecasting, cost control, revenue growth and reporting
• Confident leadership and people management ability, with a track record of building and mentoring high performing teams
• Excellent organisational, planning and guest relationship skills, backed by fluent written and spoken English
• Strong computer literacy, particularly Excel, along with familiarity with property management and accounting systems such as ResRequest, TallOrder, Sage or Pastel
• Valid driver's licence, willingness to travel, and a health and safety qualification or willingness to obtain one
